US TARIFFS
As you may know, tariffs on Swiss watches imported into the United States have risen sharply, from 10% to 39%.
Since BOMBERG does not have a U.S. subsidiary, every timepiece we ship from Switzerland is subject to these duties. We currently have no way around this reality, though we are actively exploring better solutions for the future.
What we can do is soften the impact. To help offset the difference, we are extending a 15% reduction for all U.S. customers.
Simply apply code USTARIFFS at checkout.
Because this reduction applies directly to the product price, the tariff is calculated on a lower base amount. In practice, this means the effective cost increase is far smaller than the full 29% jump.
A Concrete Example
Let’s take a BOMBERG Racing priced at $1,195.
Scenario | Base Price | Discount | Price After Discount | Tariff Rate | Tariff Amount | Final Cost |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Old Tariff (10%) | $1,195 | – | $1,195 | 10% | $119.50 | $1,314.50 |
New Tariff (39%) – No Discount | $1,195 | – | $1,195 | 39% | $466.05 | $1,661.05 |
New Tariff (39%) – With 15% Discount | $1,195 | -15% ($179.25) | $1,015.75 | 39% | $396.14 | $1,411.89 |
In short:
-
Under the old tariff system, the final cost was $1,314.50.
-
Under the new tariff system, without any adjustment, it would rise to $1,661.05.
-
By applying USTARIFFS, the final cost becomes $1,411.89.
-
This keeps the real increase closer to +6–7%, instead of the full +29%.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are tariffs?
Tariffs are government-imposed import duties, essentially, a tax charged on goods when they enter a country.
Why do I have to pay them now?
Because our watches are Swiss Made and we ship directly from Switzerland and we do not have a U.S. subsidiary, all watches enter the U.S. as imports and are subject to the new tariff rates.
Who receives the money from tariffs?
The U.S. government. Tariffs are collected by U.S. Customs at the time your watch is imported. Neither BOMBERG nor our logistics partners keep this money.
Can I choose to avoid paying tariffs?
Unfortunately not. Tariffs are a legal requirement for imported goods. If a package enters the U.S., the duties must be paid, there is no option to waive or decline them.
Does the 15% discount eliminate tariffs completely?
No. Tariffs still apply, but since the discount lowers the base product price, the tariff is calculated on that reduced amount. This means your final cost is significantly lighter than it would otherwise be.
Will BOMBERG open a U.S. subsidiary?
We are actively studying the best long-term solution for our American customers. While nothing is confirmed yet, finding a way to reduce or remove this burden is a top priority.
We remain committed to keeping BOMBERG provocative, Swiss-made, and fairly priced.
Thank you for standing with an independent brand as we navigate this transition.
