The Mistral straight at Circuit Paul Ricard stretches for nearly two kilometres, flanked by the iconic blue and red runoff zones that have defined this track for decades. This Friday, when BOMBERG ambassador Ruben Del Sarte fires up his engine for the first test session, he will be sitting in a cockpit he has never raced before.
After five seasons behind the wheel of an Aston Martin, Ruben opens his 2026 GT4 European Series campaign in a machine that represents a clean break from everything familiar: the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2.
Five Seasons, One Decision
The numbers tell part of the story. At just 24 years old, Ruben has already logged 164 race starts across the GT4 European Series, the British GT Championship, and the legendary 24 Hours of Spa. Twelve podium finishes. One victory. Five consecutive seasons with Mirage Racing, the team that has been his home since 2021.
But numbers only go so far. What they do not capture is the hunger that comes from knowing you are capable of more. After half a decade pushing the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to its limits, Ruben and Mirage Racing made a bold call for 2026: a complete switch to the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, the car that propelled Toyota to third in the SRO global GT4 Manufacturer Ranking during its debut year.
It is a machine built for aggression and precision in equal measure. Faster downshifts through rev-matching software. Improved cooling for engine, brakes, and drivetrain. A cockpit optimised for the kind of sustained focus that endurance racing demands.
Alongside Ruben, young British talent James Sherrington joins the Silver Cup campaign, bringing fresh energy to the #5 car. Together, they represent the next chapter for a team that refuses to stand still.
The Grid
The 2026 GT4 European Series features one of the most competitive fields in the championship's history. Ten manufacturers line up on the grid: Toyota, Porsche, BMW, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Aston Martin, Audi, Ford, Lotus, and Ginetta. The diversity of machinery is matched only by the depth of talent behind the wheel.
Six rounds across Europe's finest circuits. Twelve races. From Le Castellet to Monza, Spa-Francorchamps to Zandvoort, Misano to the brand-new season finale at Portimao. Every weekend brings two 60-minute races with mandatory driver changes, and every position on track is earned through skill, strategy, and split-second decision-making.
Precision Beyond the Track
This relentless pursuit of precision is what connects BOMBERG to motorsport at its core. The Apex Carbon Collection was born from this partnership between watchmaking and racing, featuring carbon fibre dials, Swiss-made chronograph movements, and the kind of uncompromising design that performs when the pressure is highest.
As Official Timing Partner of the Michelin 24H Series, BOMBERG understands that in both racing and watchmaking, every fraction of a second carries weight. The same engineering philosophy that drives Ruben on track lives inside every BOMBERG timepiece: bold, unconventional, built to perform.
